So much of socialist ideology is based on illusions about the government doing good things, but it’s actually easy to find lots of examples about how they make things worse and these things come up all the time, like income tax, foreign wars etc.
I thought out one more highlight: He asked if I was a feminist and I said that I was a feminist among libertarians but not among mainstream feminists because I think you have to hold far left political opinions in order to be a “true” feminist. He explained that a womanist is like a feminist but with more discussion of race and class.
So I said it made it so he could remember how we met. I told all my friends that I was falling in love with him.

He did warn me about his political persuasions on our first date, but I looked past them until his far-left views started to veer into communism. A few months later, we broke up and haven’t really spoken since.
